The Neal Experience Part 3: Building the Lynch Family Home

Friday, November 2, 2018  |  Homeowner Stories

Watching your new home come to life is an exciting phase of the construction process. With each visit, the project looks more and more like your dream come true! We caught up with Penny Lynch to have a quick chat about how progress was going on her new Ft. Myers, FL home. She told us that she couldn’t be more excited and that things are “really moving along at this point.”

If you remember Penny and Jim, they’re the couple who fell in love with the Applause plan when touring the model homes at Cypress Walk. One walkthrough and Penny’s emotions took over. She knew this was the right layout for their new Florida home and sales associate Krista helped them put all the pieces together.

Let’s see what else Penny had to say about the thrills of building!

Just in Time for the Holidays

An anticipated November closing will give Penny plenty of time to enjoy her new gourmet kitchen and break it in with her number one hobby, holiday baking. It’s her favorite room in the house and she loves that our construction manager is taking extra steps to keep it looking new.

She shared that during a recent visit, there was a note on her gorgeous new countertops to remind workers that this was not a place to store their tools! Penny appreciated this little extra effort and said she was impressed with how clean the inside of the house stays during construction. She also mentioned how convenient it was that Neal scheduled several walk-through tours in advance.

Penny has been taking lots of pictures and when we asked if she’d taken any friends to see the house she laughed and said, “If you’re my friend, you’ve been to the house.”

Navigating the Process

Building a new Florida home naturally comes with a few bumps in the road. Which is why the builder checks in every week with an update. Penny said they’ve been great and if there’s ever an issue they’ll address it and make sure it is resolved.

Penny stated that the gray tile they picked out for the master bathroom walk-in shower is even prettier than she’d imagined. There’s a lot of color variation and it really shows now that it’s installed and ready to go.

“I just can’t wait to get in there!”

It’s hard to be patient when you’re so close to getting the keys but a weekly drive-by keeps Penny in the loop. She met one of her next-door neighbors and said everyone waves and smiles when you drive through the community.

Once moved in, they’ll check out the new shops and a pizza place that just opened up. She’s thrilled that a Whole Foods is getting ready to open, too.

For activities, they’ll go bird watching at nearby Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. Then again, the well-maintained pond right behind the house is a fantastic place to go for an evening stroll.

We’ll check back in once the Lynches have moved in and experienced their new build Ft. Myers home.
