Homeowner finds perfect place to call home in FishHawk Ranch villa

Lynn Pomeroy wandered around FishHawk Ranch in hopes of getting to know her new neighborhood.

It was December 2016, and Lynn had recently moved to Florida from Wisconsin and was renting a townhouse by the welcome center. While she was exploring Sagewood in FishHawk Ranch, a community by Neal Communities, southwest Florida’s premier, private homebuilder, Lynn couldn’t help but notice the villas.

“I thought this is a nice little space over here,” says Lynn. “I liked the size of the homes, and it was a little less congested than where I was renting.”

The more she thought about it, the more intrigued Lynn became. But it wasn’t until she was talking to Neal Communities’ new home sales associate, Jim Barbetto, about the plans for the building that Lynn started to think villa living might be the perfect fit. Jim mentioned the builder had another villa that was being built, and by the end of their conversation, Lynn was interested in moving forward.

She decided to purchase the villa that was under construction, and after continuing to rent her FishHawk Ranch home for three months, Lynn officially moved into her new 1,400-square-foot, two-bedroom and two-bathroom villa in March.

Since the villa Lynn selected was a move-in ready home, all of the design elements and paint colors were hand selected by Neal Communities’ professional design team. With the vision and experience to bring new homes to life, the builder’s interior design team celebrates the Florida lifestyle with a seamless line of light, color and energy.

“This really has turned out to be the perfect home for what I need,” says Lynn. “It’s hard to always say that. I have great neighbors, a great location and I really enjoy my space. It’s big enough to be comfortable but not so big that I have to spend my life taking care of it.”

As a regional human resources director for Gordon Food Service, Lynn supports human resources teams for six divisions up and down the east coast. When she took on her new role last year, Lynn knew she would have to live somewhere within the region.

With her daughter, Andrea Kelly, and her three grandchildren moving to Riverview a couple years prior, FishHawk Ranch proved to be the perfect location, providing easy access to her office in Plant City and Tampa International Airport.

“It’s a really great spot,” says Lynn. “It’s close enough to the city to have some of those things, but you don’t have to live in the city.”

Being in a close-knit enclave within FishHawk Ranch also has proven beneficial to Lynn particularly when she’s away on business.

“I liked the gated community,” says Lynn. “Being gone a lot, for me that make me feel a little better. I know all of my neighbors, and I appreciate the fact that when I have been gone for a significant amount of time they are helping keep an eye on things.”

When she’s not busy working, Lynn enjoys going to the pool and taking her grandson to play pool and foosball in the game room at the clubhouse.

“A lot of people think about FishHawk Ranch being a good family place; but even for me, without small kids, it’s very welcoming,” says Lynn. “There are a lot of reasons it makes sense to live there even if you don’t have small children.”
